Oh my gosh, did Iain and I have a scare! We thought we were leaving for Tanzania on our Safari on Tuesday morning so have been lounging around not doing anything to get ready the last couple of days. We thought, 'we have all of Monday to get everything done'.
Well unfortunately for us, we double checked our itineraries and we leave in 12 hours! Our flight is actually MONDAY morning, not Tuesday morning. I can't imagine how ticked off our friends Laura and Eliot would have been if we didn't show up on the first safari day. Since it's a private safari, it would have messed up our (and their) entire schedule!
However, since we noticed we're leaving tomorrow, we had time to make some arrangements and get ourselves over to Dar Es Salaam where we're going to somehow have to book a flight to Arusha that day or the day after. There are no direct flights to Arusha from Johannesburg unfortunately so it's going to be tricky getting there.
Anyway, we will be in the Serengeti for a few days checking out the African wildlife. This is a SERIOUSLY cool part of the trip where we have a proper Masaai warrior as our private guide and we are staying in Hunting Camps that are being brought in just for us.
As soon as I have internet access I'll post an update but it will likely be a week or so. After the safari we are heading to the very tropical and pristine island of Zanzibar. We're hoping to get some diving in there.
Anyway, wish us luck! We may very well come face to face with some of the world's most beautiful (and scary) wildlife around.

Thank God, Sarah and Iain, you double checked your itineraries...I hope you had an awesome, very special and always beautifully memorable trip.
And Sarah, most of all, I hope you had a wonderful 27th birthday while on the safari, one that you will always cherish. Looking forward to seeing the pictures whenever you are able.
